This series, "3 Days to Dye" experiments with the tradition of weaving with the first religion of the Great Cosmic Mother. As I transition out of my menstrual cycle, I find myself curious to understand why this stage of life is silenced or ignored. I'm learning that menstruation is also silenced or ignored. Within this death, I paint "with the magic life-color of blood...to give life to the dead..." (Sjöö, Mor  77).
Following within the ancestors of the past, the women shaman who performed death ceremonies, I too weave. "Like magic weavers, they connected the collective dream state, in which past, present, and future psychic and physical realities merge, with the textured realms of the dead" (Sjöö, Mor  78).
